Recommended scenarios for photovoltaic fencing systems Sep 29, 2025

photovoltaic fencing systems

1. Agriculture, fishery, animal husbandry and other "PV+Industry" composite scenarios

Agricultural light complementary fence: installing PV fences around farmland, orchards and greenhouses can not only prevent animals and people from invading, but also supply power to irrigation pumps and greenhouses, realizing "on-board power generation and off-board planting".

Complementary fishery and light: the fences of fish ponds or aquaculture ponds adopt photovoltaic brackets to provide nighttime lighting, monitoring and power supply, and at the same time, the power generation is not affected by the water surface shading.

Ranch Fence: The fences of large-scale ranches are equipped with PV modules, which can provide green power for electric fences, monitoring cameras and water supply systems of the ranches.

2. Perimeter protection for photovoltaic power stations, substations and other important facilities

PV power station perimeter fencing: PV fencing is deployed around large-scale PV power stations, which is both anti-theft and anti-vandalism, and at the same time provides self-supplied power for the monitoring and alarm system inside the station.

Substation/distribution station fencing: The use of PV fencing at the perimeter of high-security demand places can reduce the dependence on external power supply and improve the reliability of power supply.

3. Urban public facilities and business parks

Residential neighborhoods, commercial complexes, schools: Fence-cum-PV can provide green power for public lighting, charging piles, security cameras, etc., and reduce operating costs.

Parking lots/carports: Photovoltaic Fencing System are installed between parking spaces or on the top of carports, which can be used for shading, power generation, lighting and charging.

Roads, bridges, railroads, airport runway perimeter: long lines of fences generate electricity to supply road lighting, signal lights, and monitoring systems, significantly reducing energy expenditures.

4. Building integrated (BIPV) fences and handrails

Building façade, railings, handrails: PV glass or PV panels are embedded into vertical components such as railings and handrails, which not only meets safety protection but also realizes power generation on the building façade.

External awning/sunshade: PV fences are combined with sunshade structures to provide sunshade and generate electricity at the same time, which is suitable for public buildings such as schools, hospitals and office buildings.

5. Eco-protected areas and special environments

Nature reserves, wildlife habitat fences: PV fences are used to prevent illegal invasion and at the same time provide continuous power supply for monitoring stations, cameras and environmental sensors.

High altitude, strong wind and sand areas: Flexible PV racking system with high headroom, large span, and wind and sand resistance characteristics can realize power generation by fencing in deserts, mountains and other harsh environments.

6. Residential balconies and small-scale decentralized scenarios

Balcony PV fencing: installing PV fencing at the edge of residential balconies combines decoration, isolation and small-scale power generation, suitable for distributed energy needs in urban housing.
