Helical ground piles are a common foundation structure used to support buildings, solar racks, fences and other structures. Below is a common way to install Ground Screw:
Positioning: Firstly, it is necessary to determine the installation position of the ground screw. Based on the structure to be supported and the design requirements, determine the location and spacing of each ground screw.
Pre-treatment: Remove debris from the ground at the identified location, ensure that the ground is level and mark the positioning points for the helical ground piles.
Driving equipment: Specialised drilling or bolting anchor equipment is used to screw the helical piles into the ground. These usually have a rotating head for driving the ground screw and have sufficient torque and thrust for smooth installation. The depth of pre-bored holes should be determined according to the specific geological conditions and design requirements to ensure sufficient bearing capacity
Installation of ground screw: Attach the ground screw to the rotating head of the drive unit and gradually screw them into the ground. Continuous checking of verticality and levelling is required when pushing in the helical ground piles to ensure that the stake is vertical and aligned on a level surface. Precise adjustments can be made using a level or measuring tool as required.
Installation Depth: Determine the installation depth of the Helical Ground Pile according to the design requirements and soil conditions. Normally, the installation depth of helical piles should reach a stable stratum and provide sufficient bearing capacity.
Fixing the pile head: Once the installation of the screw ground piles is complete, the support structure needs to be fixed. Depending on the specific requirements, bolts, welding or other suitable fixing methods can be used to connect the support structure to the ground screw
INSPECTION AND TESTING: Finally, inspect and test the completed installed helical ground piles. Ensure the installation quality and stability of each ground pile to meet the design requirements and safety standards.
It is important to note that prior to installing helical ground piles, a site survey should be conducted to understand the soil conditions, geology, and other underground utilities to ensure safety and compliance with all codes and standards.
