Solar PV grating walkways are modular access and maintenance pathways designed specifically for photovoltaic power stations—particularly rooftop distributed systems.
Our range of walkways primarily comprises glass grating walkways, steel grating walkways and aluminium grating walkways.
I. Pre-installation Preparation
1) Selection of Specifications: Photovoltaic walkway panels are commonly available in thicknesses of 25 mm, 30 mm and 38 mm, and can be customised or cut to size according to on-site requirements. For example, for the installation of glass grating, a thickness of 25 mm or 30 mm is sufficient for ordinary maintenance personnel to walk on. If the panels need to support heavier equipment, a thickness of 38 mm or greater is recommended.
2) Tools and Safety Equipment: Prepare Allen keys, hex wrenches, a hand drill, and cutting tools such as a hacksaw. Operators must wear safety goggles, a face mask and gloves to prevent the inhalation of dust and protection against flying debris.
II. Installation Steps
1) Installation of rails
Secure the rails in the correct positions according to the 600mm/800mm spacing (alternatively, seam clamps may be used to fix the rails)
2) Laying and positioning
Lay the grating panels onto the pre-installed rails and securely lock them into place.
3) Edge Fixing
Secure the rails to the grating panels around the perimeter using end clamps.
4) Panel Connection
Connect adjacent panels using C-shaped clamps, using at least two clamps per pair of panels to ensure overall stability.
III.Acceptance inspection
Check that all fixing bolts are tight and that the grating is level and free from warping, ensure that the connections are secure and do not rattle.
